Youth Violence Prevention Summit

As a community, Louisville recognizes youth violence as a public health issue that affects all of us.

Date And Time Thu, April 11, 2019 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EDT Location Hotel Louisville 120 West Broadway Louisville, KY 40202 Approaching violence prevention from a public health perspective requires us to examine and address the root causes of the issue rather than simply the downstream effects. Multiple organizations representing diverse sectors across the community are engaged in this important work. April 8th – 12th is National Youth Violence Prevention Week, a designated time to draw attention to the good work that is happening in the city and advocate for continued efforts. An effective advocating tool is data; we will reflect on youth violence data gathered locally through the University of Louisville’s Youth Violence Prevention Research Center. Please join us, and our key partners, as we highlight innovative strategies for violence prevention, present findings from the research to date, and discuss implications for action in Louisville and beyond.
